Of which consists of my blog… in a large extent with the screenshots in PNG format, hence the entire page weighs. I found two little applications that can slim images in PNG format, which features on my blog. It is the PNGThing, by LevelTen Interactive and PNGPress by Phil Nelson.
PNGThing

PNGThing is an app without any interface. The whole optimization process consist of dropping PNG file on the application icon, at this point, the program is activated, its icon appears in your system dock. With the end of the optimization program ends its operation, and a slim file PNG is overwritten on the original one, in the same location. Optimization is to remove unnecessary files from the PNG, the additional information.

PNGPress
The program, like its competitor, has no main interface, the optimization process starts after dropping the PNG file on application icon. However, unlike PNGThing, PngPress has application preferences panel, where you can set the compression level, or select an automatic backup of original files with .bak extension.

PNGPress allows automatic optimization of more than one of PNG files.

After the optimalization is done, we get information about how many files have been optimized.
