Sunrise for Mac OS X – supplement for Web Browsers for Mac OS X
Posted on May 23, 2009 by admin
Recently, on my blog, I published a list of 16 web browsers for Mac OS X and now I have just remembered that I forgot … at least one application of this type – Sunrise.

Sunrise is a fast browser based on WebKit engine, extended with a number of interesting features. In my opinion the most useful of them is possible to make the snapshot of the entire page using the Snapshot Entire Page command.

We can choose the format of the image file, and the automatic rescaling of the snapshot.

Another, interesting, though not necessarily practical function is the visual bookmarks panel. It’s a bit Topsites feature in Safari, though of course the panel thumbnail bookmarks appeared in Sunrise for a long time by the new Safari beta. You can zoom and thumbnail settings for automatic updating of images, if only for a visit there are new content.

The address bar in Sunrise combines both standard function with being an input box for search queries (one of several to choose from – standard Google), so this is another Internet browser, in which the parser does not work addresses. It is therefore necessary to bear in mind the “http://”, otherwise, the Sunrise will treat address as a query and displays the search results.
Among other functions, it is worth noting the rapid rescalling the browser window to selected size.
