iMac Airport issue
Posted on May 22, 2009 by admin
Since the update of Mac OS X Leopard to version 10.5.6 Airport card in my iMac went crazy. The symptoms are always the same, the level of the signal varies from a minimum to a maximum, transfer rate is declining, and sometimes the connection is completely lost. After the 10.5.6 update it has happened relatively infrequently – once a day. Recently, after updating to 10.5.7 it happens so often, that definitely makes it difficult to work on the network. There is no rule here, however – the card can go mad by the hour or two, then for 10 next hours everything is in order. My search for a solution to the problem have not yielded any results, besides the information that the 10.5.6 update actually caused problems with the Airport card in iMacs. The only advice I found is to return to 10.5.5.
The MacBook next to iMac has no problems with Airport at all while, at the same time, iMac is loosing WiFi connection.

Computers are set side by side. There is a wireless radio mouse connected to iMac, bluetooth is off.

If anyone of you knows the solution to this problem, or at least knows what causes it, please let me know about it.
