Cryptboard a passwords’ notepad for Mac OS X

Posted on February 2, 2009 by admin

Like probably many of Mac users I have unpacked the gifts I have found under the MacHeist Givingtree. Among them I have found the password manager – 1Password. Unfortunately, this program has proven to me to be too powerful, and its integration with the system was burdensome for me rather than a help. After several weeks 1Password landed in the recycle bin of my Mac OS X. I understood that I didn’t need an assistant that would help me out with typing the passwords. The thing I needed was an easy accessible password protected password notebook. I found the solution – an application called Cryptboard installed in Mac OS X as a widget and available directly from the dashboard. This is nothing more than that the notebook, a sheet with saved passwords, access to which is secured with the main password (the one I have to remember) .No need to mention the fact that the file with all passwords is encrypted before being stored on disk.

Try 1Password from the app store. It’s awesome and will sync with the mac version of the software, so you always have the latest data on the iPod.

Sorry, I didn’t notice that you had tried 1Password. When I first loaded your page, only the images came up, it wasn’t until I posted a comment and refreshed the page that I saw any text.
