Slife – analyze your computer habits…

Posted on January 28, 2009 by admin

Couple of days ago I have discovered a great and free program for a detailed analysis of user activity or entire groups of users of Mac OS X and Windows. The application called Slife presents, in the attractive design and form, detailed reports (hourly, weekly, monthly, etc.) on the programs they use, in which purpose – what exactly was done on the computer. The manner in which the program presents a record of activity tends to reflect on our computer habits. Indeed, we often do not realize that most of our time is unwittingly wasted through browsing some websites, refreshing and posting news to microblogs (like Twitter and Polish Blip.pl), refreshing the received messages folder in our email clients. I admit that part of the addiction is a problem that I am suffering from . However, with Slife we can determine what unwanted activity consumes most of our precious time. But not least, we can also use this program to overcome our habits, setting goals to achieve. For example, assume that we spend on checking emails only maximum of 20 minutes daily, 10 minutes on Twitter, a web browser to an hour or two a day. Slife will allow us to view the realization of our goals, giving us the statistics of the usage of the minutes or hours of estimated daily activity.
